The Chandrabhaga Fair 2026 will be held from 23 to 25 November 2026 in Jhalrapatan, near Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Organised on the banks of the sacred Chandrabhaga River, the fair combines religious rituals, livestock trading, folk performances and traditional community celebrations.
Jhalrapatan is located approximately six kilometres from Jhalawar. Known for its historic temples and cultural heritage, the town welcomes pilgrims, livestock traders, artists and travellers during this annual fair.

The Chandrabhaga River is considered sacred by local communities and pilgrims. The festival is celebrated during the Hindu month of Kartik, when devotees gather on the riverbanks to perform prayers and religious ceremonies.
Taking a holy dip in the river is one of the fair’s most important traditions. Devotees believe the ritual provides spiritual purification. Maha Aarti and Deepdaan may also form part of the programme. During Deepdaan, illuminated earthen lamps are offered and placed near the river, creating a peaceful evening spectacle.
Livestock trading is another major attraction of the Chandrabhaga Fair. Farmers and traders bring cows, horses, buffaloes, camels and bullocks to the fairground for exhibition and sale.
Animal competitions and displays may be organised by the relevant departments. The cattle market provides visitors with an opportunity to understand the agricultural traditions and rural economy of Rajasthan’s Hadoti region.
Previous editions have included colourful processions, Rajasthani folk music, classical dance, bhajan evenings and cultural performances. Traditional competitions such as turban tying, moustache contests, rangoli, mehndi, tug-of-war and local rural games may also be organised.
Handicraft and food stalls allow visitors to explore regional products and flavours. The final list of performances and competitions should be confirmed through the official event schedule.
Travellers can visit the historic Sun Temple and Dwarkadhish Temple in Jhalrapatan. Other attractions in the wider Jhalawar region include Gagron Fort, Garh Palace, Bhawani Natyashala and the Government Museum.
Jhalawar and Jhalrapatan are connected by road with Kota and other Rajasthan cities. Ramganj Mandi is a useful nearby railway station, while Kota serves as an important regional transport hub.
