The Pushkar Fair 2026, also known as the Pushkar Camel Fair or Pushkar Mela, will be held from 17 to 24 November 2026 in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Recognised as one of the world’s major camel and livestock fairs, this annual celebration brings together animal traders, pilgrims, folk artists, photographers and travellers from around the world.
Pushkar is a sacred town located in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district. During the fair, its peaceful streets, ghats and desert grounds transform into a lively celebration of livestock trading, Rajasthani traditions and religious devotion.

The Pushkar Camel Fair features Rajasthani folk music, traditional dances, craft stalls and rural sporting events. Popular competitions have previously included matka phod, turban tying, camel decoration, bridal costume displays and longest-moustache contests.
Visitors can shop for embroidered textiles, leather goods, jewellery, decorative objects and other local handicrafts. Food stalls also serve popular Rajasthani dishes, sweets and snacks.

Pushkar is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination known for Pushkar Lake and the Brahma Temple. The fair is traditionally connected with the holy month of Kartik and concludes around Kartik Purnima.
Pilgrims visit the ghats to take a sacred dip in Pushkar Lake and offer prayers. Travellers should dress respectfully and avoid photographing religious ceremonies or worshippers without permission.
Ajmer Junction, approximately 15 kilometres away, is the closest major railway station. Jaipur International Airport is the nearest major airport and is around 145 kilometres from Pushkar. Buses and taxis connect Pushkar with Ajmer, Jaipur and other Rajasthan destinations.
Accommodation fills quickly during the fair, so hotels or desert camps should be booked in advance. Carry comfortable footwear, sunscreen, drinking water and warm clothing for cooler evenings. Visitors should arrive early for major events and keep their belongings secure in crowded areas.
