Now the Foreign tourists could soon make a quick dash to Agra to see the Taj Mahal or to Jaipur for a glimpse of the Hawa Mahal if they plan their transit time in India to allow such visits.
The government is considering relaxing visa rules with the tourism ministry proposing a transit visa — for 48 to 72 hours — to encourage these foreign tourists to plan a quick stopover in India for 2 nights or 3 nights. The scheme could be implemented initially in Delhi and Mumbai in a few months followed by Rajasthan.
