Happy Chaitra Navratra. From Travel Plan India.

Chaitra Navaratri commences today, it's nine days, 8th-15th April,2016 - are dedicated to the nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess) in the month of Chaitra (March–April). The beginning of this Navaratri also marks the start of the new year as per the Hindu mythological lunar calendar (Vikrami Samvat).

While the elephant ride at the Amber Fort is closed during this period, i.e 7th - 16th, April 2016 --  an alternative ride at the elephant village will be available for tourists during the same.
